I sometimes browse these SOHO images myself, but I found this one on a forum post over at godlikeproductions.com. It certainly looks like some very odd shaped objects are orbiting the sun. Is it a compression artifact of the image? I have included the image in my post but I have also linked to the original source. Hopefully, it won’t be removed, or someone will accuse me of doctoring the image myself.
EDIT: Click on the pictures to see the full sized image. The shrunk images are difficult to find the detail in. More notably in my opinion is the bottom image. Look at the 4 o’clock position and use the web browsers zoom facility to check out the object. It is perfectly symmetrical.
In addition, this guy has done a montage of all the different times this has appeared. This is not the first time such odd things have been spotted:
And as if all that wasn’t freaky enough, all the SOHO realtime images have been pulled from their site and replaced with “CCD Bakeout” Messages, implying the camera has gone faulty. What’s odd is that the Russian equivalent satellite system for monitoring the sun has also, very mysteriously gone faulty too, at exactly the same time. Now that’s just a little bit too odd for my liking. Please email me your comments on this one. I would be interested to know other peoples take on this.
