Where did Jupiter’s SEB go?

Firstly, I must apologise for not posting anything for such a long time. It’s certainly not through lack of content. I have stacks of stuff to post, including on the latest hot topic; the gulf oil spill. Things aren’t quite what they seem there. But I digress… I always seem to have far too many things to occupy my mind. I promise I will try harder in the future
On with the show…..
A few weeks ago Jupiter was imaged and it’s Southern Equatorial band was missing, well, faded. If you invert all the colours of the images below you can see the last remnants of the faded band. Interesting? Yes. Conspiracy theory? Possibly. But this has happened before but all the conspiracy nuts are going even more nuts for this.
